Contributor email is a great way for collaborators to communicate about a file they’re working on. The person initiating the conversation does not need to open Gmail. They can also choose which collaborators they want to send the message to. Click on File>>>Email Collaborators… to use this feature.

Use the comment feature and enter a “+” or “@” with the contributor’s email address to assign them an action item. This sends an email to their inbox letting them know they’ve been assigned an action.

In the Google Docs editor, notice the pencil in the upper right corner. Click on it and select “Suggestion” from the drop-down menu.

The version history shows everything. Click File>>>Version History to access a detailed history of all edits to a G Suite file. Version history allows publishers to restore versions. Any post (announcement, question, or assignment) can only be shared with specific students, even if the default value is set to all students in the class. Media API with resource-specific consent: This summer, get real-time access to audio and video streams to create scenarios like transcribing, translating, note-taking, data gathering, and more. These APIs will have resource-specific consent enabled so that IT admins can view these permissions in the team admin center and validate that such apps only have access to the meetings they’re added to.

Microsoft Teams: What Is It And How Does It Work?

With newly released Azure Communication Services interoperability with Teams, enable Teams users to easily communicate with customers, partners, and other key people outside your organization. When you build custom applications using Azure communication services, such as voice, video, and chat, benefit from embedded interoperability with Teams. This will allow team users to join meetings and interact with customers and partners using your custom app. Even better, with Azure Communication Services on the backend connecting to Teams, developers enjoy free VoIP and chat for Teams users.

We built Teams to enable collaboration, so we’re sharing new features and capabilities that will allow users to collaborate together in Teams and on some of our other platforms.

Fluid Components in Teams is now available in private preview and will roll out to more customers in the coming months. Fluid Components in Teams Chat allows end users to send messages with tables, action items, or lists that can be created and edited by everyone on the line and shared across Office apps like Outlook. Quickly align teams and work efficiently by copying and pasting elements into team chats. With Fluid Components, users can brainstorm, create, and decide together, holding fewer meetings and reducing the need for long conversation threads.

Messaging extensions will soon be supported in Outlook: Provides a unified development experience for messaging extensions that work with Teams on the web and Outlook. When users compose a message, they will be able to select a new menu of search-based message extensions to choose from. For example, a user can compose an email and then select a message extension that displays tasks from the Teams app to send to teammates.

In addition to making it easy to build low-code apps, bots, and flows in and for teams, we make it easy to deliver low-code solutions to end users. Soon, you’ll be able to share bots built with Power Virtual Agents with security groups in general, just as you already can for applications built with Power Apps. We recently made it easy to migrate your apps, bots, flows, tables, and associated resources from one dataverse to another for team environments, so you can use these assets for new scenarios. We also continue to release more sample apps for Power Apps to help developers and customers get started with Power Apps.

As developers build the next generation of collaborative apps to support hybrid work, we’re investing in tools and resources to help you be more productive.

With the improved Teams Toolkit for Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code available in preview, we’re making it easy for any developer to build Teams apps that interoperate with the stack on both desktop and mobile. Whether you’re using React, SharePoint Framework (SPFx), or .NET—the toolkit is there to meet developers where you are with frameworks you already know and use. Some of the major updates include: single-line authentication, Azure Functions integration, SPFx integration, single-line graph client, and easier hosting for the IDE and CLI.

Writing code is the first step, but developers also need to manage and configure your apps, so we’re happy to announce the preview of the Developer Portal for Teams. With Developer Portal (formerly App Studio), developers get a dedicated app management console via the web or within a team that can be used to register and manage their apps in one central location.
