As you may know from my recent tweets, in the past I have had the pleasure of presenting at the EdTechTeacher iPad Summit – Boston. A few days. Overall, this was one of the best professional development experiences I’ve ever had the pleasure of participating in. The research behind the augmented reality phenomenon is presented to show that it is a healthy learning experience. It is also interesting to build all the powerful devices that facilitate such learning, using modern electronic components that can be found on Octopart.com, there are powerful smartphones to do this. Most importantly, elementary, middle, and high school teachers, as well as college professors, will leave this session with several tools in their tool belts. Although I’ve heard about the Augmented Reality/AR-Buzz in education now, I wasn’t really interested in attending such a session before coming to the conference. After meeting Courtney last summer at the 2013 ADE Institute in Austin, I wanted to at least reach out and support her. I had never understood the educational benefits of using AR in the classroom, but as I watched him lead a great session showing how this new technology could be used from elementary to high school, I quickly made a connection that would inspire my future work. class objective.

Educational Augmented Reality Apps Using Arkit

During the session, Courtney showed a video of a student explaining the Trigger Wall in her classroom. By scanning any picture on the wall with any device, you will be directed to that student’s YouTube video. I’m sure she has other types of trigger walls in her classroom, but I quickly started planning how to use the AR Triggers on my walls to help students meet the learning goals they were struggling with earlier in the year.

Courtney suggested using Layar for such a task. You can create a free account online, start a new campaign and quickly start uploading images to use as “Triggers” (known as “Pages”). Please note that this service is designed for businesses to advertise, so to keep it free you will see an advertising banner below your Augmented Reality Triggers when they scan.

When you add buttons to your triggers, students can scan any image on your wall and they’ll see active hyperlinked buttons floating over the images on their iPad. Students can quickly click anywhere they want, whether it’s a summary of a learning objective, some practice questions, videos, or even links to an online experience like Khan Academy.
